August is feria time!

​

Feria de Malaga, also known as the Malaga Fair or simply August Fair, takes place around the third week in August every year.

 

The city comes to life with festive Spaniards and tourists of all ages, and different events all day all week long.

​

This is truly one of the largest and most popular events in Malaga.

SOLHEIM CUP

Solheim Cup is coming to Andalucia!

​

The prestigious golf tournament between Europe and the USA is held every biennial year, and in 2023 the best female golfers in the world will come up against each other at the Finca Cortesin Golf Club.

​

The captain of the European team is none other than the Solheim Cup legend Suzann Pettersen, who retired as a player after clinching the Solheim Cup win in 2019.

Annual half-marathon held in the autumn.

This is a big event in Malaga. The running route is in the city streets and on the beach boardwalks.

Málaga Jazz Festival

During the autumn, the annual Jazz Festival is one of the biggest events in Málaga.

The main stage of the festival is the traditional Teatro Cervantes, Málaga's oldest theatre.

Malaga Christmas lights

The Christmas lights in Calle Larios is switched on for the first time during the last weekend of November, followed by several light shows every evening until the beginning of the new year.

​

If you are lucky enough to be in town, this is well worth a visit, especially on the opening night!

Generali Marathon Málaga

Annual running event that takes place in mid-December.

 

In the main event you can choose between a marathon (42 km) and a half marathon (21 km).

 

Some years there's also a "breakfast run" of 5 km, often arranged the day before the main event.

The city streets, the old town and the beaches comes to life with events and activities, and of course lots of good food and drinks.

Málaga Film Festival

Annual film festival with main focus on the Spanish film industry.

 

The first festival was held in 1998, and the main prize is the Biznaga de Oro for best picture.

In Málaga, Easter is one of the most important and busiest times of the year. Semana Santa, also known as the "Holy Week", is characterized by impressive processions, music and vibrant life for seven days.

Harlem Globetrotters in Malaga November 2021

The Harlem Globetrotters were supposed to visit Malaga in 2020, but the event has been postponed three times due to the Corona pandemic. Mark your calendar, Sunday the 7th of November 2021 you can experience some of the greatest ball artists in the world at the José María Martín Carpena "Sports Palace".

 

Harlem Globetrotters is an experienced team, having visited more than 100 countries and played more than 26,000 exhibition matches for thousands of fans.

 

The organizers emphasizes that the new date obviously depends on the Corona virus being under control, and that the authorities have cleared for events of this size.
